Our authority grants us to issue actual Provincial Offence Notices, known as parking tickets under the authority of the City of Ottawa and the Province of Ontario.

The Parking Enforcement Service provided by Praetorian Garde is completely free, and at no cost to you or your organization. The City of Ottawa has mandated Praetorian Garde to solicit private property owner/operators to sign up with the Private Property Parking Enforcement Program. We are in turn compensated by the city for every parking infraction issued and paid by our deputized officers. The purpose of the Private Property Parking Enforcement Program is to alleviate the workload of city by-law services. Generally, when private properties request by-law services for private property parking enforcement, the city by-law officers often take an hour or more to show up. By then, the offender will most likely have returned causing an unwanted scene in front of patrons if/when confronted personally by you or your staff. Private property parking enforcement calls for city by-law officers are simply not high on their priority lists and often the offending vehicle is no longer on the property upon their arrival.

Praetorian Garde works openly with property management to review the notes and evidence, due to the fact that defendants say and do nearly anything to attempt to get out of a ticket. We encourage property management to refer defendants to Praetorian Garde and helps you or your staff from getting involved and perhaps causing conflict between you and defendants in front of patrons. We are paid and trained to deal with them on a professional and fair basis.
